Warrants were executed at addresses in Failsworth, Newton Heath and the Northern Quarter area as part of an operation dedicated to disrupting a drugs line between Tameside and Hull that involves the criminal exploitation of vulnerable children. Officers seized a large quantity of class A drugs, a .22 calibre rifle and ammunition for a handgun, during the raids.

West Yorkshire Police and Crime Commissioner Mark Burns-Williamson has spoken about a new campaign to help people recognise signs of child exploitation WEST Yorkshire Police have launched a new campaign to educate parents about the signs of Child Criminal Exploitation (CCE) and to encourage people to come forward. CCE involves a number of types of crimes which can include drugs, County Lines, the carrying of weapons, money muling and serious acquisitive crime. Stats from November 2020 showed there were a total a 436 victims of CCE recorded in West Yorkshire. Most of these victims were male and aged between 13 and 18 years old.
