WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. â The Center for Child Counseling in Palm Beach County recently launched a new program to improve the mental health of the youngest members of our society.
The developers of the program said the campaign aims to build a more trauma-informed community.
They believe this will help children to grow up with adults who understand the impact of trauma, thus preventing re-traumatizing children through their words or actions.

It wasn’t the Turkey Trot familiar from past years, but this year’s United Way event still was able to bring Thanksgiving meals to more than 4,300 needy people in Palm Beach County.
Normally a 5K run, this 12th annual edition of the Turkey Trot was held virtually over the Thanksgiving week because of the coronavirus pandemic. Some 696 people registered for the virtual race, which began Nov. 20 and ended Nov. 27. All participants were awarded a T-shirt, finisher medal and goody bag.
The Town of Palm Beach United Way uses the proceeds from Turkey Trot registrations and donations to award grants to local nonprofit agencies that provide take-home meals and socially distanced Thanksgiving celebrations for people who would otherwise go without a holiday dinner.
