children worldwide has been put at risk, with at least one
in seven forced to remain at home under nationwide public
health orders – or recommendations – during the COVID-19
pandemic.
Based on new research, it said on
Thursday that more than 330 million youngsters have been
stuck at home for at least nine months, since the virus
spread uncontrollably this time last year.
This has
left them feeling isolated and anxious about their future,
said UNICEF spokesperson James

with young people in schools displaying violent behaviour
and placing other students at risk. This is not a new
phenomenon, said NZPF President, Perry Rush. There is a
growing number of young people in our schools displaying
severely violent behaviour and we have been seeking
appropriate assistance to keep these young people in
education for many years. We recognize that these

Witnesses for faith-based institutions, including
Archbishops and a Cardinal, will give evidence before the
Abuse in Care Royal Commission of Inquiry this month, on
their processes for resolving historic and current abuse
claims.
Phase 2 of the Faith-based Redress hearing
runs from 15 to 29 March. Phase 1 of the hearing was held
late last year and focussed on the experience of survivors
in seeking redress (such as compensation, counselling, an
apology etc) for abuse and/or neglect in the care of
faith-based institutions.
