The robberies took place Monday just over an hour apart from one another, Austin police reported.
The first robbery occurred at 1:10 a.m. in the 8800 block of North Lamar Boulevard.
Arriving officers learned that two Tortas y Tacos Dos Hermanos employees were closing up for the night when they were approached by the robber. Police said the man held both employees at gunpoint and demanded money.
He then headed east on foot before jumping into a white sedan and driving off with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The second robbery took place at 2:31 a.m. in the 400 block of East Rundberg Lane.
