A South-East youth group, operating under the auspices of Coalition of South-East Youth Leaders, on Tuesday, petitioned the Inspector-General of Police, Mr Kayode Egbetokun; the leadership of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission; and Amnesty International, to as a matter of urgency, probe the alleged diversion of N3 billion empowerment fund and the eventual arrest of a whistleblower, Comrade Chika Nwoba, in Ebonyi State.
An Abakaliki Magistrate Court has remanded a former spokesperson for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and a member of the party’s Interim Caretaker Committee in Ebonyi State, Mr Chika Nwoba, in prison custody. He was remanded for accusing the Ebonyi State Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Mr Oguzorkanu Offia-Nwali, of diverting N3 billion empowerment funds.
