NORWALK A Norwalk police officer has been arrested after he was accused of trespassing at a Fairfield residence last month, according to police.
Officer Nelson Figueroa, 36, of Norwalk, was taken into custody by Fairfield police officers on May 14 on charges of first-degree criminal trespass and second-degree breach of peace.
Lt. Antonio Granata, a spokesperson for the Fairfield Police Department, said on Wednesday that the arrest was made in connection to a May 12 incident that took place at a home on Center Street. He said police were called to the home after a woman reported that a man was on her property and was refusing to leave.

NORWALK, Conn. Roundabouts may be coming to Norwalk and a “confusing” change made quietly by the Department of Transportation, Mobility, and Parking near the beach is being reversed.
The Norwalk Traffic Authority voted Monday to remove yield signs installed at Gregory Boulevard intersection with Fifth Street installed by TMP in November. Mayor Harry Rilling said removing them was a recommendation made by newly hired Director of Transportation, Mobility, and Parking James Travers.
“There’s a yield sign, probably about 15 feet in from Fifth Street on Gregory Boulevard, which is very, very confusing. It almost looks like the traffic is supposed to yield to traffic on Fifth Street, which has a stop sign. I don’t think that’s a proper signage there,” said Rilling.
The validity of any investigation is obviously dependent on the independence and integrity of the investigator. At the time of the incident I tried, on behalf of CONECT, to call for an independent, out of house investigation at a City Council meeting and was ruled out of order. This investigation may have been entirely objective but you don’t ask the foxes to investigate the raid on the chicken coop. The optics are just bad.
OMG, unbelievable. Duff still thinks he has some moral high ground. I for one am in full support of our stellar Chief of Police Tom Kulhawik. Duff demanded disciplinary action, but claims the Chiefs time would have been better spent doing other things. (why because the results/truth was not to his liking). Put off his testimony until after the election to impede the investigation for his political gain. A thorough investigation was done, 30 interviews, and guess what, it was all on tape. Duff lied plain and simple, used this incident for political gain. Malign
Police: 2 Norwalk Officers Facing Charges After Being Found In Hotel Room While On Duty
CBS New York 1/7/2021 Syndicated Local – CBS New York
NORWALK, Conn. (CBSNewYork) Scandal has hit the police department in Connecticut’s sixth largest city.
Two Norwalk officers are facing charges after an alleged night of drinking and ignoring service calls, while on duty, CBS2’s Tony Aiello reported.
“This is totally a breach of the public trust and not indicative of what the Norwalk Police Department is all about,” Mayor Harry Rilling said.
Rilling spent 41 years as a cop in Norwalk, including 17 as chief.
He said the charges against officers Sara Laudano, 31, and Michael Dimeglio, 38, shocked their fellow cops.
