A Breaux Bridge man has been arrested after a months-long investigation by police into sex trafficking.
Breaux Bridge Police say 40-year-old Gerald Mouton was arrested on Friday, March 12, on the following charges:
Trafficking of Children for Sexual Purposes
Carnal Knowledge of a Juvenile
Soliciting Minors to Distribute CDS
Contributing to the Delinquency of a Juvenile
Possession of Schedule I
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Assistant Chief Terry Latiolais says Mouton s arrest was made in connection to a report of a missing juvenile out of Lafayette Parish. That juvenile is back with family Latiolais reports. Further details were not provided.
Fatal Crash Being Investigated in Breaux Bridge
Breaux Bridge Police Department are investigating a fatal crash on I-10.
KATC reports according to the Breaux Bridge Police Department, shortly after midnight on 01/01/21, they received a call about an accident in westbound lane of I-10 near the exit ramp.
Assistant Chief Terry Latiolais says the initial call was about a single vehicle that had crashed into the concrete barriers on I-10. KATC reports the vehicle hit the barriers and had come to a stop. Other drivers, seeing the accident, stopped to help.
A second vehicle that was traveling westbound on I-10 then crashed into the immobilized vehicle involved in the initial accident, striking two people at the scene as well. One person was seriously injured, and the other person struck was reportedly ejected over a concrete barrier into the eastbound lanes.
