Taipei, March 16 (CNA) Autocrypt Co., a South Korea-based automotive cybersecurity solution provider, has jointed an open electric car platform pushed by Taiwan-based manufacturing giant Hon Hai Precision Industry Co.

Taipei, Jan. 19 (CNA) Taiwan-based manufacturing giant Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. said on Tuesday that many companies have joined its electric car platform, which is open to outside investors interested in electric car development.
Hon Hai s Chief Technology Officer William Wei (魏國章) said during an economic forum in Taipei that the MIH Open Platform for which it has been pushing has attracted over 400 participants sharing hardware, software and an ecosystem the platform provides to take on possible bottlenecks during the development of the emerging technology.
In February 2020, Hon Hai, known as Foxconn in the global market, announced a joint venture with the Yulon Group, one of the leading carmakers in Taiwan, and they are scheduled to start rolling out electric cars in two years time.

(Yicai Global) Jan. 15 Taiwan’s Hon Hai Precision Industry, better known as Foxconn, has today appointed the co-founder of electric car startup Nio to lead its open electric vehicle platform, financial news channel Yixian reported.
Jack Cheng will be head of MIH, Foxconn’s new open software and hardware platform for developing EVs, the report said. He will be responsible for the hardware side of things while Chief Technology Officer William Wei will take charge of the software side.
