‘Collectors should ensure no delay in sanctioning of funds’
Chief Minister Y.S Jagan Mohan Reddy has asked the officials to accord a top priority to setting up medical colleges proposed across the State and expedite the works.
Reviewing the works under the Nadu-Nedu scheme on Monday, Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy said that the works should start for the proposed colleges where judicial preview and tendering process have been completed.
Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy asked the District Collectors to ensure that there were no delay in sanctioning funds for acquiring land for the medical colleges proposed in East Godavari, West Godavari, Krishna and Kurnool districts.

Officials told told to set up oxygen plants in hospitals
Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has directed officials to increase the number of beds in COVID hospitals and arrange 3,000 beds, including 1,000 oxygen beds, in COVID Care Centres in every district and to set up the required oxygen manufacturing plants and oxygen tanks at hospitals.
Speaking at a review meeting on COVID at his camp office on Thursday, the Chief Minister said the rates paid to empanelled private hospitals for COVID treatment could be increased and the same could be made applicable to Aarogyasri hospitals.

The committee to review manpower planning policy
The State government has constituted an expert committee comprising Justice Krishna Mohan Reddy (retired), Nagaraja Swamy, Director Grid, A.P. Transco (retired) and Usha Ramachandran, a Professor of the Administrative Staff College of India to suggest measures for self-sustenance of the energy sector.
A G.O. (Rt No.1126) in this regard was issued by Chief Secretary Aditya Nath Das on Wednesday.
Aggregate loss
The G.O. stated that the power sector was struggling with an aggregate loss incurred by DISCOMs amounting to nearly ₹30,000 crore, a sectoral debt outstanding of ₹80,000 crore and high industrial tariffs.

AMARAVATI: The Andhra Pradesh Government has revived the State Command and Control Centre for Covid-19 Management and Vaccination to handle the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic. As part of this, the Government on Tuesday constituted a Committee with a group of State Ministers to monitor the functioning of the Control Centre.
The Committee comprises Deputy Chief Minister and Health Minister Alla Kali Krishna Srinivas (Nani) who is the convene, along with Home Minister Mekathoti Sucharitha, Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister Botsa Satyanarayana, Finance Minister Buggana Rajendranath Reddy and Agriculture Minister K Kanna Babu as its members.

VIJAYAWADA: Amid a spike in COVID-19 cases in the state, the Andhra Pradesh government on Tuesday issued orders making it mandatory for all individuals to wear masks in public places and said any violation would attract a penalty of Rs 100. The government also ordered closure of all swimming pools with immediate effect.
