They agreed to hire James Kline, who is a township resident, as a part-time patrolman.
During their June meeting, supervisors agreed to purchase a new police interceptor vehicle, and during their most recent meeting, agreed to purchase new equipment for the vehicle.
Police Chief Rudy Harkins said the township could use some of its American Rescue Plan funding to update the technology in all police vehicles, to make it up-to-date with other police departments.
The supervisors also discussed the idea of sharing the cost of installing new security cameras, with Ellwood City, at the intersection of routes 65 and 265, to monitor speeding and driving concerns, with the township paying for the maintenance after the installation.
