Wapello man arrested for drug possession

February 17, 2021 Wapello, Ia- The Wapello Police Department has announced the arrest of a man on drug possession charges. According to an arrest report, At approximately 8 pm on Friday, February 12th, 2021, the Wapello Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by 30-year-old Eric Brewer of Wapello. As a result, Brewer was arrested and charged with felony possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, driving while suspended, and driving without insurance. A subsequent residential search warrant at 525 N. Chestnut St. in Wapello was conducted at midnight where methamphetamine was located along with evidence of sales. As a result of this investigation, Brewer was charged with possession of over 5 grams of methamphetamine with intent to distribute and/or conspire with others to sell, as well as possession of drug paraphernalia.
