PINEVILLE, N.C. One person was shot inside a North Carolina mall Saturday, authorities said.
The Carolina Place Mall was evacuated, and Pineville police tweeted Saturday evening that officers had finished clearing the mall. No arrests were immediately reported.
Authorities did not say what prompted the shooting. Police Chief Michael Hudgins told WCNC-TV they do not currently believe the shooting was random.
Mecklenburg County EMS said the shooting victim was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries. A second person was also taken to a hospital for a non-life-threatening medical complaint, the agency tweeted.

Two men are facing criminal charges after police say shot each other Saturday afternoon inside Carolina Place Mall in Pineville Saturday.
Both men, Kevion Donshare Harris and Jamie G Vantay Williams, are both recovering at Charlotte-area hospitals and have been charged with assault with a deadly weapon and possession of firearms by convicted felons.
The mall was evacuated after the shooting on Saturday. Authorities did not say what prompted the shooting.
The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department said it is helping Pineville officers with the investigation.
