The founding fathers of Ebonyi State, on Saturday, settled the war of words raging between the Governor Of Ebonyi State, David Nweze Umahi and Senators Anyim Pius Anyim and Dr. Sam Ominyi Egwu, Igbere TV reports.
Contrary to earlier reports that the meeting was organised by Christian Association of Nigeria,CAN, IGBERE TV gathered that the meeting organised by the founding founders of Ebonyi State was well attended by Governor Umahi, Senators Ayim and Egwu, His Lordship Most Reverend Michael N Okoro and Rev. Fr. Abraham Nwali.
In a communique issued at the end of the meeting signed by former Governor of Ebonyi State, Chief Martin Elechi, the leaders agreed that there should be no further war of words among them both in the print, electronic and social media and at other places.
A former federal lawmaker who represented Ohaozara/Onicha/ Ivo Federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Linus Okorieat was at the weekend engaged in a war of words with the aides of Governor David Umahi over a video documentary of the state.
Recall that the Commissioner of Information and State Orientation, Uchenna Orji had packaged a video documentary of the achievements and development witnessed under Governor Umahi in the past six years of his administration.
But, Okorie faulted the video documentary of the governors’ achievements, stressing that the Commissioner was biased in the documentary and that he deliberately did not give credit to the laudable achievements of the former governors; Dr. Sam Egwu and Chief Martin Elechi who ruled the state before Umahi.

Abakaliki, Dec 30, 2020 Ebonyi Government says it has embarked on aggressive campaign to address environmental challenges to complement the infrastructural development of the present administration.
The state, in a bid to achieve this, on Nov 25, launched the ‘Clean Ebonyi, Use the Toilet Campaign’ saying that the government would spare no efforts in addressing environmental degradation in the state.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Ebonyi was rated highest in states that practice open defecation in the country.
In separate interviews with a cross-section of residents in Abakaliki, they said that open defecation was necessited by lack of availability of public toilets and running public water source in the state.
