Indiana Attorney General Todd Rokita announced Wednesday that he declined to join a group of 50 attorneys general from states and territories who signed a letter condemning last week s pro-Trump riots at the U.S. Capitol.
Rokita instead wrote two letters one published on his Twitter account, and another provided to IndyStar that denounced the events that transpired last week. The letters also attacked Antifa and protests over police brutality that occurred in 2020.
The two letters came after the National Association of Attorneys General published a letter directed at acting U.S. Attorney General Jeffrey Rosen that said they were appalled by what happened at the U.S. Capitol last week, when rioters stormed the building resulting in the death of five people, including a Capitol Police officer.
INDIANAPOLIS If you have jury duty coming up soon, think again.
The state Supreme Court has decided to suspend all jury trials until March 3 statewide. It’s because the coronavirus as the state’s positivity rates is holding steady at just under 13-percent. That’s simply too high for Chief Justice Loretta Rush.
The order does not close courtrooms or courthouses. It just suspends in-person jury trials for the next three and a half months. The state’s high court will reassess as we get closer to the end of that time frame. Share
