The Slate Belt Regional Police Department and its commission representing three municipalities finally on Thursday got to celebrate their new chief.
Chief Jonathon Hoadley was sworn-in to the position last Dec. 1, but the coronavirus pandemic delayed the ceremony, said David Hess, chairman of the Slate Belt Regional Police Commission.
The commission chose the pavilion in Pen Argyl’s Weona Park for Thursday’s ceremony, since Hoadley was a borough police officer before the formation of the regional department effective April 1, 2015. The department also covers Wind Gap and Plainfield Township.
