The Southern and Middle Belt Leaders Forum (SMBLF) has expressed shock over recent decision of the Northern Food sellers and Cattle dealers Association preventing the members from transporting livestock and food from the north to the southern part of the country, describing it as gratuitous insult.
Last week, cattle and foodstuff dealers under the aegis of the Amalgamated Union of Foodstuffs and Cattle Dealers of Nigeria, stopped supplies to the South following the Federal Government’s failure to meet their demands, which include payment of N475m compensation for destruction of lives and property during the #EndSARS protest and last month’s crisis in Shasha, Oyo State.

Southern and Middle Belt Leaders Forum (SMBLF) has condemned what it termed the outrageous financial demand as compensation from the Federal Government by the Food Sellers and Cattle Dealers Association for the damage suffered while the body was enforcing food blockade to the South-West, describing such as an assault on the sensibilities of non-Fulani in the country.
The blockade, which lasted for a period of six days, had since been called off, with the association now demanding billion of naira compensation based on their produce which got rotten during the period.
The Southern and Middle Belt Leaders’ Forum (SMBLF) has condemned attempted arrest of Yoruba rights’ activist, Mr. Sunday Igboho by a combined team of security forces.

The Southern and Middle Belt Leaders Forum, SMBLF, yesterday, condemned the alleged attempted arrest of Yoruba rights activist, Mr Sunday Adeyemo, alias Sunday Igboho, in Ibadan, Oyo State by a combined team of security forces.
It explained that people like Boko Haram leader, Shekau, and Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Abubakar Gumi, among others, should be under security scrutiny and not Igboho.
