Hubbard Township police detective Michael Orr said a person of interest was interviewed by officers Monday, and was released on his own recognizance. No charges have yet been filed in the case, Orr said, and no report of the incident has been released as the investigation is continuing. Hubbard township and city police found the devices Monday and called the Youngstown Bomb Squad and agents with the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. Those agents detonated two of the devices in the back yard of the property, Orr said, while the remaining devices were taken by agents to a secure storage facility.

Feb 11, 2021 HUBBARD TOWNSHIP A 42-year-old man died after the minivan he was driving had slipped out of park and ran over him early this morning as the vehicle was sliding in a graded driveway in the 2000 block of Thomas Road SE. According to township police Chief Greg Tarr, his department is still investigating the fatal accident. Tarr said first responders managed to get a pulse while treating the victim at the scene, but the man later was pronounced dead in the emergency room of St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital. Tarr said the identity of the victim will be released after the Mahoning County Coroner’s office notifies relatives.
