Labour and skills shortages in Australia at the moment is “really impeding” on the growth of jobs for Australians, according to Australian Chamber of Commerce acting Chief Executive Jenny Lambert.
Jobs which have traditionally been taken up by migrant workers or working holiday makers have been left vacant due to the international border closures.
Ms Lambert said the state and federal governments need to “solve this quarantine problem” in a way which grows the number of potential workers returning to Australia.
