JOHNSTOWN The popular tax preparation services usually offered at the Johnstown Senior Citizens Center is in doubt this year because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In her report Tuesday to the Common Council, center Executive Director Diedrie Roemer indicated the facility has received “numerous calls” about AARP tax preparation services held there in the past.
“Currently, AARP is unsure if they will have the service available this year and are recommending people have an alternative plan if they are going to file taxes this year,” Roemer said. “We may have further information in the next few weeks, but appointments would most likely not even be set up until March, according to AARP..”
