stewardship and enough sense as world leaders to get it right. so thank you all so very much. appreciate it. okay. we ve been listening there to president biden wrapping up his glasgow visit there about climate change globally, and what he thinks they accomplished and what more needs to be done. yeah. that was the last press conference that he ll be having, and as he said, he ll be heading back now and arrive at 1:00 a.m. and of course he was asked about the elections, and virginia and new jersey, and of course his domestic agenda which is still in flux let s say as senator joe manchin says he needs a lot more to get his vote of support. joining us now, we have cnn chief white house correspondent kaitlan collins, cnn chief climate correspondent bill weir, cnn chief congressional correspondent, manu raju, and cnn white house correspondent, john harwood. bill, i want to start with you
on climate change provisions. cnn chief congressional correspondent, manu raju here. is manchin willing to compromise? has he dug in? it s unclear if they can resolve his concerns and do as quickly as the democratic leaders want. joe biden and nancy pelosi discussed what they both share here. they want the talks to end. what is less clear is exactly how they will end. there is significant differences between progressives who want a massive expansion of the social safety net, they re willing to come down on the $3.5 million price tag, and keep the number of programs and limit the years they can offer the benefits. manchin and kyrsten sinema, and manchin has pushed back on the climate change emissions, reducing global greenhouse gas emissions over the next decade. he hails from a coal producing states. he does not support the program
scheduled to vote on a bill that would suspend the debt ceiling. republicans have vowed to block this measure, saying the democrats have to figure out how to pay the country s debt on its own, though much of the debt was racked up by president trump. we now know that minority leader mitch mcconnell will discuss two proposals with majority leader chuck schumer for a possible short-term suspension. he s concerned that moderate democrats, senators joe manchin, and kyrsten sinema might gut the filibuster if there s no deal on the debt ceiling. joining us now, cnn chief congressional correspondent, manu raju, and white house correspondent jeremy diamond. first, the potential for this deal, walk us through it. we ll see what happens, in fact, there s a bit of uncertainty at the moment about whether this vote is expected to take place in a matter of minutes actually will take place in the after math of mitch mcconnell making a proposal here to try to stave off a default just for a short-t
