In preparation for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Zonal Congress in the South-West, the group loyal to the former governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose met in Akure, Ondo State capital today, with a firm resolution to give all that it will take to return Dr Eddy Olafeso as the Zonal Chairman and Reverend Bunmi Jenyo as Secretary.
The group, which also cautioned the party’s National Organising Secretary, Col. Austin Akobundu and his office against manipulation of the delegates list, declared that “the South-West PDP is not up for sale.”

Ahead of the South-West Zonal Congress of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, today, held a strategic meeting with the zonal chairmanship aspirant, Dr Eddy Olafeso, four States Chairmen, Zonal caretaker committee members and other leaders of the party.
Though what was discussed in the meeting held at the Lagos residence Fayose, was not disclosed to journalists, it was learnt that the meeting evaluated the chances of Dr Olafeso and aspirants for other positions in the group.

The Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State, Dr Sikirulai Ogundele, has emerged as the chairman of the PDP chairmen in the six states of the south-west zone.
Dr. Ogundele was announced to lead PDP State chairmen in the South-West after the meeting of the Zonal Caretaker Committee and the State Chairmen held in Abeokuta.
Apart from seven members of the zonal caretaker committee, chairmen of Lagos, Ogun, Osun and Ekiti States, Engr Adedeji Doherty, Ogundele, Hon. Sunday Bisi and Chief Bisi Kolawole respectively attended the meeting.

The crisis rocking the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the South West deepened yesterday when the zonal caretaker committee suspended the chairman, Dayo Ogungbenro, over alleged negligence of duty.
Seven out of the 12 members in the caretaker committee, who suspended the chairman, said he had not called for any meeting since he was appointed.
They also called on the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party to appoint another chairman that would be alive to his duties to pilot the affairs of the party in the zone pending the conduct of the zonal congress.
However, Hon. Ogungbenro has rubbished his purported suspension by some members of the committee.
PDP caretaker exco suspends South-West chairman for non-performance

The South-West Caretaker Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party has announced the suspension of its Chairman, Dayo Ogungbenro, for alleged negligence.
Seven out of the 12 members announced the suspension during a meeting held in Ibadan, on Monday.
They accused him of failing to convene any meeting since his appointment as chairman.
Those said to have attended the meeting where the decision to suspend Ogungbenro was taken were the Zonal Secretary, Daisi Akintan; Mrs. Funmilayo Ogun, Ayobola Fadeyi- Awolowo; Nekan Olateru- Olagbegi; Wahab Owokoniran; Alhaji Mustapha Sikiru and Martins Olu-Abiloye.
