Margo Burgard, Newcastle Schools’ HealthCorps coordinator
Newcastle Schools’ efforts to stem the spread of coronavirus infections recently added another weapon to its arsenal provided by HealthCorps, a national nonprofit committed to eliminating health inequity in at-risk communities.
Margo Burgard, Newcastle Schools’ HealthCorps coordinator, says she appreciates how school administrators, staff and teachers have gotten behind the effort to distribute COVID-19 health kits as part of its #SaveTheStudents campaign.
The effort is in conjunction with Kinsa, a health technology company that helps communities stop the spread of infectious diseases.
“Teachers and staff are on board with it,” Burgard said. “It’s a really cool project to be able to work on.”

Pearl” and “Bearer of the Morning: The Life of Te Ata Thompson” from the Chickasaw Heritage Series will air during Women’s History Month in March on WBEC-TV in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
“Pearl Carter Scott: On Top of The World” will be shown Monday, March 1 at 11 p.m.; Saturday, March 6 at 5:30 p.m.; Saturday, March 20 at 5 p.m.; and Tuesday, March 30 at 9:30 p.m.
“Pearl” will be shown on Sunday, March 7 at 11 a.m. and Monday, March 22 at 7 p.m.
