Genealogy program explores Fighting Influenza During the Great War     Posted7/19/2021 6:33 PM The Kane County Genealogical Society and Batavia Public Library will host the webinar Q&A Genealogy: Pandemic 1918! Fighting Influenza During the Great War from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday, July 22, on Zoom. More than 30 percent of Americans were estimated to have contracted influenza in 1918 and millions of people lost their lives.   Join speaker Tina Beaird as she explores the timeline of the outbreak and hear tales of how the U.S. Army, Navy and civilian population centers tried desperately to combat the disease.
