The
Chicago Sun-Timesreported nine shootings on Tuesday, two of which proved to be fatal.
The first of the two fatalities occurred just after 6:30 p.m., when a 29-year-old man was shot and killed while sitting in the passenger seat of a vehicle “in the 6000 block of North California Avenue.”
The second fatality occurred about 7:40 p.m., when multiple people exited a vehicle and opened fire on an individual walking “in the 3400 block of West 18th Street.” The pedestrian was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead.
The
Sun-Timesnotes six people were shot Wednesday and one of the victims succumbed to his wounds.

Chicago Sun-Timesreports the first of the fatalities was discovered just after 6 a.m., when a 36-year-old man was found with a gunshot wound to the head. The man was found lying in front of a house “in the 200 block of West 37th Street” and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The second fatality involved a drive-by shooting West Garfield Park around 7:40 p.m. A 29-year-old man and a 33-year-old man were on the sidewalk and someone from inside a passing vehicle opened fire, fatally wounding the 33-year-old.
Breitbart News noted that 45 people were shot over the weekend in Mayor Lightfoot’s Chicago, and five of the shooting victims succumbed to their wounds.

Chicago Sun-Timesreports the weekend’s first shooting fatality occurred around 7 p.m. Friday night, when an 18-year-old man was shot dead “in the 3600-block of West 16th Street.”
The second shooting fatality was a seven-year-old girl who was shot numerous times Sunday afternoon while in a McDonald’s drive-thru with her father. The incident occurred about 4:20 p.m. outside the McDonald’s location at “3200 W. Roosevelt Road.”
The third shooting fatality took place about 11:20 p.m. “in the 4900-block of West Madison Street.” A 43-year-old was shot in the chest and fatally wounded while standing on the sidewalk.

There have been 60 shootings on expressways in Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s (D) Chicago so far this year.
Fox News notes this puts the city on pace to top the 128 shootings witnessed in all of 2020, and it already surpasses the 52 such shootings which took place in 2019.
Illinois State Police are responding to the gun violence surge by spending $12.5 million on cameras with which to monitor the expressways.
NBC 5 reports one person “was seriously hurt” in the latest expressway shooting. That shooting occurred Thursday morning just after 11 a.m. on I-57.

Nearly 20 people were shot, one fatally, Good Friday into Easter morning in Mayor Lori Lightfoot’s (D) Chicago.
Chicago Sun-Times, 19 people were shot and one of those individuals succumbed to his wounds.
The fatality occurred around 1:30 a.m. Sunday, following an argument that pitted a 31-year-old man against two other persons. One of the two other persons pulled a gun and opened fire, shooting the 31-year-old 14 times.
The shooting victim was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead.
The
Chicago Tribunereports 703 people were shot in January 1, 2021, through March 31, 2021, in Chicago. That is 184 more people than were shot during the same time-frame in 2020.
