Hsing Tai-chao assumes prosecutor-general post

The former chief prosecutor in Taipei, Hsing Tai-chao (邢泰釗), assumed his new position as prosecutor-general at the Supreme Prosecutors’ Office in a handover ceremony at the Ministry of Justice yesterday. Lawmakers approve Tsai nominee as prosecutor-general

Lawmakers on Tuesday approved the appointment of veteran prosecutor Hsing Tai-chao (邢泰釗) as prosecutor-general of the Supreme Prosecutors’ Office. Despite Chinese Nationalist Party (KMT) legislators boycotting the confirmation vote, the 113-seat legislature approved Hsing’s nomination in a 65-0 vote, with 48 abstentions. Hsing tapped for top job as supreme prosecutor

Veteran prosecutor Hsing Tai-chao (邢泰釗) was nominated by President Tsai Ing-wen (蔡英文) on Thursday to head Taiwan’s highest body of prosecution.
