🥎 Jayhawks Split Action with Kansas City

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Redshirt junior Sydnee Ramsey and junior Morgyn Wynne each finished the night with two home runs as Kansas softball split doubleheader action against Kansas City on Friday, April 9. The Jayhawks took game one, 11-6, before dropping the evening clash, 8-6. With the results today, the Jayhawks move to 18-15 on the year as the Roos are 18-14. On the day, Kansas finished with 18 hits and 17 RBIs between the two games. The Jayhawks were led by Ramsey and Cheyenne Hornbuckle tallying three hits. Wynne led the team with five RBIs to move her season total to 41. Game One – Won 11-6

🥎 Jayhawks Host Roos in Nonconference Series

LAWRENCE, Kan. – The Kansas softball team will take a break from Big 12 play this weekend to host Kansas City in a three-game series at Arrocha Ballpark. The first of the three games will begin at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, April 9 with the second game to follow at 6 p.m. Action will conclude on Saturday, April 10 with a single game at 2 p.m. Note that game times have been changed from what was originally scheduled due to potentially bad weather. KU will now play a doubleheader on Friday with a single game Saturday rather than a single game Friday and a doubleheader Saturday.

🥎 Kansas Drops Series to Top Ranked Oklahoma

NORMAN, Okla. – Redshirt-junior Sydnee Ramsey hit her fifth home run of the season as KU fell to No. 1 Oklahoma, 10-1, on Saturday afternoon at Marita Hynes Field. The Jayhawks drop to 17-14 on the season and 1-5 in Big 12 play. The Sooners improve to 28-0 overall and 6-0 in the Big 12. OU struck first with a run in the bottom of the first inning and tabbed another in the bottom of the second to take a 2-0 lead. The Sooners added four more in the third before KU was able to get on the board. After getting through the order, KU brought the top of the lineup to the plate in the top of the fourth. With a 1-0 count, Ramsey led off the inning with a solo-home run to cut down the Sooners lead, 6-1.

🥎 Jayhawks Begin Homestand Against SDSU and UNI

LAWRENCE, Kan. – Kansas softball (9-5) begins a 14-game homestand at Arrocha Ballpark on Wednesday, March 10 with a doubleheader against South Dakota State. Action continues Thursday with a single game against the Jackrabbits before capping the weekend with single games against the University of Northern Iowa on Friday and Saturday. The Jayhawks are coming off a 4-1 performance last weekend at the Wooo Pig Classic and are 8-2 in the last 10 games played. With an overall record of 9-5, KU is off to the best start since head coach Jennifer McFalls took over the program in 2019. Here’s what to know about the Jayhawks entering this weekend:

The Jayhawk softball team split action on day one of the Wooo Pig Classic on Thursday. KU started the day with a 10-5 win over Drake before falling to No. 20 Arkansas, 3-8, in the afternoon.
