RATCHABURI: A woman running for mayor in the March 28 municipal election was shot dead and three other candidates and the local kamnan wounded at a funeral at a temple in Photharam district on Monday night.
Police on Tuesday asked Ratchaburi Court for a warrant to arrest a suspect in the shooting.
Pol Lt Gen Thana Chuwong, the Provincial Police Region 7 commissioner, identified the suspect as Wanchart Niamraksa, a member of the Ratchaburi provincial administration organisation.
