The AG s office said Neeld, the funeral director of Neeld Funeral Care in Chester County, was given the power of attorney for Keith Jerome in March 2016.
Jerome lived in a home in Doylestown Township until 2011, when he moved into a senior care facility in Doylestown Borough. He was never married, had no children and had no living family members at the time of his death.
Jerome was suffering from various ailments, and died in September 2016. He was 84.
Jerome, who granted Neeld the executor of his estate, directed his remaining funds to be distributed to three separate charities, according to court documents.
