Plans are underway to bring some colour to Middlewich verges in the form of wildflowers. A pot of £500 has been set aside from the Town Council chairman s fund to spend on sowing native seeds at strategic points around Middlewich. Council chairman Cllr Mike Hunter said:“Middlewich residents are taking a lead in improving our environment and the way the town looks. We are delighted that the council can help this fantastic initiative. We welcome not only human visitors but wild ones too.” Local volunteers have formed a group called Middlewich Flowering Meadows, whose aim is to plant wild flowers in and around Middlewich, creating floral gateways into the town.
