Cheryl U Ran retiring from road commission
Cheryl A. U Ran, administrative assistant and deputy clerk for the Monroe County Road Commission, is retiring after 31 ½ years as a county employee.
Her last official day in the office was March 26. With accumulated vacation time, she will officially retire June 7 and is available until then.
Her last board meeting was March 22.
She worked 9 1/2 years as an investigator with the Monroe County Friend of the Court before coming to the road commission as the Administrative Assistant/Deputy Clerk, a position she held for 22 years. She has worked with four Managing Directors at the road agency: Ralph A. Lange, Howard L. Penrod, Randy D. Pierce and, for a short period of time, with the current director, Dori Hawkins-Freelain. U’Ran actually worked with Hawkins-Freelain for at least two years when she was the director of finance.
