International Women s Week At Lee To Begin March 1 Monday, February 22, 2021 - by Eliza Souers, Lee University Gloria Scott Richmond In honor of International Women’s Day on March 8, Lee University’s Cultural Diversity Committee will host a series of events during the week of March 1-5 celebrating International Women’s Week. Activities will include lectures, chapel services, and a poster competition. There Isn t Just One Way : Students On The Navajo Nation Find Ways To Learn At Home During Pandemic

KUER Phoebe Johns is a student on the Navajo Nation in Utah. Her mother purchased iPads for her and her brother Aiden, a student at Whitehorse High School, so they can stream video classes. While many students in Utah are back in the classroom now, that’s not the case on the Navajo Nation. Teachers and parents there have had to find creative ways to help students with limited internet access learn at home because of the pandemic. Georgiana Simpson is an art teacher at Whitehorse High School in Montezuma Creek, Utah, a small community on the Navajo Nation. But since March, She’s been working from her home 20 minutes away in Bluff.
