Reporter an absolutely incredible rescue. It happened just minutes ago, as you mentioned. The 24yearold surfer is on a u. S. Coast guard boat. Were told he has hypothermia and was severely banged up. Hes currently en route to sausalito and going to marin general. This all started when he and a buddy came down to ocean beach about 6 30 this evening. They got separated at sunset. That surfer made his way to shore where he borrowed the abc 7 photographer, borrowed his cell phone to call 911. Park rangers became involved. The surfer told them about his friend being lost out in the black waves. He told the rangers that his surfer friend of experienced, a little out of shape and had asthma. Now, the u. S. Coast guard deployed both a helicopter and newsroom boats. And just minutes ago, they were able to rescue him from the seal rocks that are right off of the cliff house. An incredible rescue.
