GNADENHUTTEN – Cheryl Foote led the way as Grand Parade Marshal Saturday afternoon for this year’s Gnadenhutten Fireworks Festival Parade.
Foote has been an active part of the festival for years as a volunteer and assisted her brother Jim Foote with the fireworks displays. “Jim started doing the fireworks about 1975 and I started helping in 1982.” she said. “The Country Fantasy in the Sky was added in 1991.”
Foote can be seen volunteering at the festival in many capacities. She grew up in Gnadenhutten and moved away because of a job opportunity.
“I moved away for 25 years for a job as a librarian, first at New Philadelphia and then Caldwell and finally Wellsville. Then I moved back after I retired,” she said.
