(File photo courtesy of PIO Negros Occidental) BACOLOD CITY - The provincial government-owned Mambukal Resort and Wildlife Sanctuary in Murcia, Negros Occidental will reopen after the Holy Week after months of rehabilitation from the damage caused by Typhoon Odette. Provincial Tourism Officer Cheryl Decena said on Tuesday they will initially accept visitors for day tours after which, overnight accommodations will be available in May. "We're opening the resort to the public after Holy Week as advised by the governor (Eugenio Jose Lacson), between April 18 and 20. For overnight stay, it will be on May onwards," she told reporters after the hearing on the proposed ordinance for rate adjustments in the use of the resort facilities. Decena said there has been no increase in rates for accommodation and recreation facilities since 2003 while the entrance fee was last increased in 2011.
