Published Thursday, February 25, 2021 6:42PM EST A woman credited for pushing two children out of harm’s way as a vehicle reversed onto the sidewalk in Toronto’s Corso Italia neighbourhood has undergone three surgeries on her road to recovery, friends say. The collision occurred late Wednesday morning shortly before 11:30 a.m. around St. Clair and Boon avenues, west of Dufferin Street. According to police, an 82-year-old male driver was attempting to park and suddenly mounted a curb and struck a woman who was pushing a stroller. The woman, who is believed to be in her 30s, is the caregiver of the children. She was trapped under the vehicle but was quickly freed by emergency responders and rushed to a local trauma centre with life-threatening injuries.
