Ballinger City Council Roundup [Brownwood Bulletin, Texas]
Jan. 5 The city council clarified some issues that had been meandering through the community since the city council agenda was posted on Friday.
All members of the council were present, with the exception of councilman Ryan Lange, who is out with COVID.
The topic of “Security concerns” was addressed after questions arose about what it actually dealt with. According to city manager Brian Frieda, it’s anything that has to do with any security issues city-wide. This could be physical security, such as home and business, or cyber issues. It’s an all-encompassing topic.
BANNER ELK â The Banner Elk Town Council reconvened for its monthly meeting on Monday, Dec. 14, in which the town voted to approve new amendments to its zoning ordinance.
The town approved the new amendments after holding a brief public hearing that it had set the previous month. According to Tax Collector Cheryl Buchanan, the updated ordinance was needed in order for the town to be in compliance with state regulations that were passed the previous year. Included in the ordinance are laws regulating the use of political signs within the townâs limits. The ordinance regulates the size of the political signs and the locations which they are allowed to be erected.
