Several lessons emerged from California’s first-of-its-kind reparations task force, despite personal and ideological divisions that remain about its work.
After two hours of intense debate, the task force voted unanimously in favor of an agency that would provide certain services to descendants of Black enslaved people while overseeing groups that provide other services.
