Wayne County’s second drive-through COVID vaccination clinic was held Friday morning at the Wayne County Fairgrounds and was well attended. Gates opened at around 7 a.m., an hour earlier than scheduled, with reports of people lined up as early as 4 a.m. Gates to the fairgrounds were closed around 7:45 a.m. once officials had a count of the number of people inside. Vaccine vouchers were distributed Friday, and the department says it has chosen to conduct clinics in this manner due to the lack of staff to handle the volume of calls for a reservation-based clinic and still maintain core services elsewhere.
