Many people got to spend more time with pets or chose to get a new pet during the pandemic. However, many now are experiencing separation anxiety and getting rehomed. When the country went into a lockdown in March 2020 because of COVID-19, pets likely were the only ones happy. Many people adopted puppies, adult dogs, and cats because they were home more often.

The New England Patriots are not going to the Super Bowl this year, but their owner is making sure health care workers from around the region are among those who will watch the game in person.
Among the 76 health care “superheroes” representing all six New England states are two Baystate Health employees and another from Springfield’s Mercy Medical Center.
“It’s a phenomenal honor, one of those once-in-a-lifetime dreams,” said Baystate employee Stephen Boyle Sr., who will be among the health care workers attending Sunday’s Super Bowl as guests of New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft.
