Ideanomics MEG Reports Purchase Agreement of 2,000 Units of BYD D1

(NASDAQ: IEX)announced that its Mobile Energy Global and contracting entity Qingdao Chengyang Medici have signed an agreement with Meihao Chuxing, a joint venture between BYD and Didi to purchase 2,000 units of model BYD D1.  The ride hailing vehicles will deploy in multiple cities in China.  Deliveries are expected to begin in H1 2021.  “The D1 is a very thoughtfully designed ride-hailing EV and is a culmination of the latest design and technology to bring drivers and their customers an enjoyable travel experience. Research Volvo Ideanomics Mobile Energy Global unit and its contracting entity Qingdao Chengyang Medici will take the vehicles, which are intended for deployment in multiple cities within China, Ideanomics said. It expects deliveries to begin in the first half of next year. The company is based in New York, with several offices in China.

By Reuters Staff 2 Min Read (Reuters) - Ideanomics Inc’s Mobile Energy Global unit, which helps commercial fleet operators procure electric vehicles, said on Monday that it has signed a deal for the purchase of 2,000 EVs for ride-hailing services. The deal was between MEG and its contracting entity Qingdao Chengyang Medici and a joint venture between China’s Didi Chuxing and EV maker BYD. The company said deliveries are expected to begin in the first half of next year. The vehicles are aimed for deployment in multiple Chinese cities where the passengers can hail the cars through the Didi Chuxing app, Ideanomics said in a statement. Its shares soared 22% in premarket trading.
