Chemung County Chamber to host webinar The Leader The Chemung County Chamber of Commerce will host a webinar review of COVID-19 employment updates from 10 to 11:30 a.m. March 23. Michael Sciotti and Brienna Christiano of Barclay Damon will present. Topics will include the New York COVID-19 Sick Leave act, the Families First Coronavirus Response Act, lapsed Dec. 31 updates and vaccine issues. Sciotti is a partner with Barclay Damon LLP, where he is a member of the firm s Labor & Employment Practice Area and the health care and health and human services providers teams. He provides day-to-day counseling for employers in all aspects of labor and employment law and conducts internal investigations, audits, and supervisory and employee training on a regular basis.

Chemung County Chamber to host webinar The Leader The Chemung County Chamber of Commerce will host a webinar on New York State guidance on larger events from 10 to 11 a.m. March 18. Kevin Dugan of the New York State Restaurant Association will present newly released guidance on larger events, effective March 15. A Q&A will take place after the event. This presentation is limited to 100 attendees. People will receive call-in information after registering. A recording of the webinar will be available online after the event. The program is free for members and costs $5 for nonmembers, but participants are asked to consider a contribution to help the chamber offset programming costs.

Elmira College trustees elect new officers

Elmira College trustees elect new officers The Leader The Elmira College Trustees recently elected new officers. George H. Winner Jr. was elected as chair, succeeding Robert G. Morris. Clare van den Blink was elected as vice chair, succeeding Katherine Metzger. Morris and Metzger served their roles for many years. Winner, currently a practicing attorney with the firm of Keyser, Maloney & Winner LLP in Elmira, is a lifelong resident who served as a New York senator from 2004 to 10. Prior to that, he served 13 consecutive terms in the New York Assembly, representing portions of the New York Southern Tier after serving as counsel and legislative assistant to then Senate Deputy Majority Leader William T. Smith of Big Flats.

Chemung Chamber to hold webinar The Leader The Chemung County Chamber of Commerce will hold the webinar for businesses and employers on managing in year two of a pandemic from 10 to 11 a.m. Feb. 16. Bond, Schoeneck & King Attorneys will present the webinar, which will be moderated by Daniel Pautz. The presentation will review updates from Albany (budget, legislation, COVID-19 related issues), round two of Paycheck Protection Program loans, vaccine-related issues in the workplace and Employee Retention Tax Credits. The webinar is part of the Chemung Chamber’s Educational Series, sponsored by Chemung Canal Trust Co. This presentation is limited to 100 attendees. Registrants will receive call-in information after registering. A recording of the webinar will be available online after the event.
