UK alumna Helene Steene, in collaboration with the University of Kentucky, was recently awarded the 2022 Collaboration of Design + Art (CODA)award in the education category for the piece "Moon Sentinel."
Bill T. Jones, artistic director of New York Live Arts and artistic director/co-founder of the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company, will headline the University of Kentucky Gaines Center for the Humanities 2022 Bale Boone Symposium. The event will take place both in-person and via livestream 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 13, in Haggin Theatre at Transylvania University.
The University of Kentucky's Gaines Center for the Humanities is now accepting applications for its mini-grant program for the 2022-23 academic year. Now in its third year, the program provides grants of up to $500 intended to support humanities-related programming and expenses related to speaker fees and/or event logistics.
The 2022 Lafayette Seminar in Public Issues presented by the University of Kentucky Gaines Center for the Humanities will explore Mountain Moonshine. Ashlie Stevens, deputy food editor for Salon Magazine, and Jarrad Gollihue, technical director for the James B Beam Institute, will lead the conversation scheduled for 6 p.m., Thursday, March 24 in the Marksbury Building Hardymon Theatre.
