CHELMSFORD The Gardens for Good, a community food service, is growing, with an eye toward helping meet an increased food need.
Community Services Coordinator Jen Melanson said a grant from Greater Lowell Health Alliance has allowed the garden s expansion from six to 14 beds.
The garden is in the parking lot behind Chelmsford Town Offices, near the Chelmsford Food Pantry. We are working in conjunction with community partners, said Melanson, who formed a food security advisory council around the beginning of the year.
The council includes representatives of the food pantry, Table of Plenty, the Chelmsford School district, Chelmsford Senior Center and residents from the community at large.
