Austin Medford (Submitted Photo) The U.S. Marshals Eastern District of California branch, with assistance from the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office and the California Highway Patrol, located and arrested Austin Cyrus Medford, 23, at his parents’ home in Riverdale, California Wednesday without incident, said Juan Miranda, public information officer for the U.S. Marshals Service branch in southern New Mexico. Miranda said the apprehension of Medford was a collaborative effort between the Fresno County Sheriff’s Office, the California Highway Patrol, the Roswell Police Department, the Chaves County Metro Narcotics Task Force and U.S. Marshals office in Roswell. He said information was found and developed by law enforcement in New Mexico and shared with U.S. Marshals in California.

Copyright © 2021 Roswell Daily Record A woman accused of stealing two packs of beer and threatening a delivery person outside a local convenience store is the Roswell Police Department’s first addition to the “Roswell’s Most Wanted” list in 2021. Guadalupe Stephanie Perez, who also goes by the aliases Stephanie Ortega, Stephanie Perez and Martha Perez, is wanted on one count each of robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery, according to a press release issued Tuesday. Perez, 28, is described as 5 feet tall and 100 pounds, with black and blonde hair and brown eyes. She has tattoos on her neck, head and shoulders.

Edmund Montes (Submitted Photo) Edmund Montes, 37, of Roswell, and Delfida Marie Pineda, also known as Marie Pineda, 43, of Roswell, were served with arrest warrants returned to Chaves County Magistrate Court Monday, according to electronic court records. Montes faces one count each of kidnapping, no intent to commit sexual offense; aggravated assault of a household member; battery of a household member and bribery of a witness. Pineda is charged with kidnapping, no intent to commit sexual offense; and battery.

A man accused of sexually touching a teenage girl was arrested early Monday. Stanley Stanbrough (Submitted Photo) Stanley D. Stanbrough, 57, of Roswell, was charged with one count of criminal sexual contact with a minor, second degree, child under 13, unclothed, according to documents filed Monday in Chaves County Magistrate Court. Police were notified in late November after relatives of the 13-year-old girl heard her tell another child that she reportedly awoke one night to find Stanbrough reaching into her pants. She said that since then he had touched her in a sexual manner on multiple occasions. Court documents state that during a Nov. 27 forensic interview, she said that she did not know the specific date when Stanbrough is alleged to have first touched her sexually but that it was possibly sometime in the fall of 2019.

Man accused of shooting at vehicle arrested in Albuquerque

Copyright © 2021 Roswell Daily Record An Albuquerque man accused of pulling a gun on a woman in the parking lot of a Roswell convenience store and then firing several rounds at a vehicle was arrested Dec. 17 on an outstanding arrest warrant. Steven January Perez, 29, was found by New Mexico State Police and apprehended in Albuquerque, according to Todd Wildermuth, public information officer with the Roswell Police Department. Wildermuth said Tuesday he did not have more details about the arrest. Police obtained a warrant Dec. 11 for Perez’s arrest on one count each of aggravated assault; shooting at or from a motor vehicle; and firearms or destructive devices, receipt, transportation or possession by a felon, according to court documents filed Dec. 16 in Chaves County Magistrate Court.
