A magnitude 4.5 earthquake near Chauk, Magway District, Magway Region, Myanmar (Burma), was reported only 15 minutes ago by India s National Center for Seismology (NCS), considered the main national agency that monitors seismic activity in this part of the world. The earthquake occurred at an intermediate to considerable depth of 178.7 km beneath the epicenter in the morning on Thursday 13 May 2021 at 10:39 am local time. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.

An earthquake of magnitude 4.4 occurred 31 minutes ago 59 km south of At-Bashi, Kyrgyzstan, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported.
The quake hit at a very shallow depth of 1 km beneath the epicenter near At-Bashi, At-Bashi District, Naryn oblast, Kyrgyzstan, early afternoon on Thursday 13 May 2021 at 2:37 pm local time. Magnitude and other quake parameters can still change in the coming hours as the agency continues to process seismic data.
Towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include At-Bashi (pop. 15,200) located 59 km from the epicenter, Naryn (pop. 52,300) 88 km away, and Naryn (pop. 52,300) 88 km away.

An intermediate magnitude 5.2 earthquake was reported in the evening near Madang, Madang Province, Papua New Guinea.
According to Indonesia s Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysical Agency, the quake hit on Thursday 13 May 2021 at 9:32 pm local time at an intermediate depth of 72 km. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) which listed the quake at magnitude 5.2 as well. A third agency, the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ), reported the same quake at magnitude 5.0.
