ISLAMABAD:
Fireworks are expected in the National Assembly on Friday (today) over the 26th constitutional amendment bill aimed at changing the method of voting in the Senate elections as the House is all set to take up the bill when it resumes legislative business.
Friday session is likely to be a stormy affair with the opposition parties deciding to take on the government on the bill while the government too is arming itself with the relevant number of legislators to not only pass the bill but hit back at the opposition.

ISLAMABAD: National Assembly (NA) Speaker Asad Qaisar on Monday, while taking a notice of ugly incident during the session of the National Assembly on 4th February, decided to issue explanation letter under Rule 21 of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business in the National Assembly 2007 to MNAs Syed Naveed Qamar (PPPP), Chaudhry Hamid Hameed (PML-N) and Attaullah (PTI).
NA Speaker chaired a meeting on Monday to probe into the unpleasant incident. NA Deputy Speaker Qasim Khan Suri, secretary National Assembly, adviser to Speaker on Legal and Constitutional Affairs and other senior officers of the Secretariat were present in the meeting.

Days after lawmakers scuffled in the lower house of the parliament, the National Assemblyspeaker has issued notices to Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) Syed Naveed Qamar, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) Chaudhry Hamid Hameed and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) Attaullah and sought explanation from them for violating the decorum of the house.
