PTI sweeps AJK polls July 26, 2021 ISLAMABAD/MUZAFFARABAD: Vote counts at polling stations across Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and various cities of Pakistan for the AJK Legislative Assembly elections is underway, as PTI has taken lead with 18 seats while PML-N and PPP grabbed three seats each till the filing of the report on Sunday night. Polling time ended at 5pm with the gates of polling stations closed to new voters, however those already queued inside were allowed to cast their ballot. The AJK has a total of 3.2 million voters, out of which 1.75 million are male and 1.46 million are female. There are 33 electoral constituencies in the 10 districts of AJK, while 12 constituencies are reserved for Pakistan-based Jammu & Kashmir refugees. Polling booths across Pakistan s provinces were set up for the refugees.

Daily Times AJK former PM Sardar Attique wins LA-14 Bagh seat July 26, 2021 The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lead the race in Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly (AJKLA) elections, according to preliminary results announced by the Election Commission (EC) till filing of this report late on Sunday. According to the unconfirmed and unofficial results, the PTI won 22 seats out of 32 constituencies whose results were announced by the commission, while its arch rival Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) grabbed four seats, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) clinched five seats while All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference secured one seat. Chaudhry Azhar Sadiq, the PTI’s candidate from LA-1 Dadiyal, emerged victorious in election by securing 14,233 votes. Chaudhry Masood Khalid of PML-N came second by bagging 7,609 votes.
