NOIDA: The Noida-Delhi lanes at the Chilla border were blocked for traffic again on Wednesday after a three-day respite as tempers flared and farmers attempted to move towards Delhi but were stopped by police.
Alleging that scores of farmer leaders had been detained or put under house arrest while hundreds of farmers were being prevented from reaching the protest sites by police, a group of protesters – who have been at the Chilla border since December 1 – started driving a tractor from the protest site. Barricades were put up immediately.

NOIDA: Infuriated at thousands of farmer leaders and supporters being put under house arrest ahead of their state-wide agitation slated for Thursday, the farmers protesting at the Chilla border yet again tried to move towards Delhi after which the Noida and Delhi police shut traffic on the Noida-Delhi carriageway.
While on Tuesday, the Chilla border was closed by Delhi police for about 15 minutes affecting traffic when members of the BKU-Kisan tried to enter Delhi via the border, the BKU-Bhanu members on Wednesday morning attempted to move towards Delhi –- some of their members moving ahead in one of their tractors.
