Police today arrested three persons from Chattogram s Saltgola area for allegedly gang-raping a 30-year-old garment worker at knifepoint in the city s Customs area last night.
The accused rapists are Md Monir and Md Jamal. Name of the other accused could not be known immediately, reports our Chattogram correspondent. Police arrested them [the accused] after receiving a complaint from the victim through the National Emergency Number 999 around 12:30am today, said Milon Mahmud, deputy commissioner (Port) of Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP).
The suspects allegedly tied the victim s husband in a tin-shed room and raped her beside the foot-over bridge at the Customs intersection area between 9:30pm and 11:30pm last night, police sources said quoting the victim.
