Her illness made her reconsider what she was consuming and led her on a path of discovery where she embarked on a mission to improve her own life and the lives of others. Thus, the wellness business specialising in natural and healing teas, Naturinda’s, was born. Murray-Broome explained that being exposed to illness and death in her family left her feeling like something was missing, with her mother succumbing to breast cancer and having to take care of her diabetic grandmother and father. In fact, one of her tea brands, Bishop’s Chattel House, is named after her grandmother who was a “tea baby” and passed away last year from the chronic non-communicable disease.

Adaiah Sanford wins Caribbean Literary Works Competition; another Dominican places second

Mardi, 15 Décembre, 2020 - 20:48 Seven year-old Adaiah Sanford, will soon be recognised as an internationally published author, after winning the first annual Caribbean Literary Works Competition. The  competition, which was organised by The Ducreay Foundation, provided a unique opportunity for Caribbean-based authors specializing in children’s books to successfully become internationally accepted authors. Sanford was among two Dominicans who were in the final leg of the competition; the other being Karllen Lawrence, who came in second place. Sanford and Lawrence were among five competitors vying for a spot in the top three positions at the final round which was held on December 12, 2020.
